Hillary Clinton Arrives in Washington on the Eve of Her Presidency

President-Elect Hillary Clinton arrived in Washington this morning together with the first gentleman, former president, Bill Clinton. At the inaugural luncheon, she mentioned the grilling of her cabinet pick for Secretary of State, Wendy Sherman, as well as her commitment to affordable education.

Later in the day, she will lay a wreath in Arlington National Cemetery, which will kick off the official inaugural events. When asked about potential Supreme Court nominations, she wryly said, “President Obama is a constitutional law expert, right?” The administration is locked in a heated battle with the Republican-controlled senate over confirmation hearings. Deputies whom served President Barack Obama will be staying on in key positions to maintain a smooth transfer of power.
