Today @caropinto asked me, what are my top five WordPress plugins? It’s a great question and one I hope you all will help answer. There are so many plugins for WordPress, but it can be hard to find them through all the noise.
For me, I use the following:
- Akismet – Blocks spam comments.
- Google XML Sitemaps – Automatically creates and updates a sitemap and submits it to Google.
- Jetpack (Does this one even count?) – Lots of WordPress goodies wrapped into one plugin.
- SEO Ultimate – Let’s you add meta information to posts and set display for social media.
- Page Links To – Easy way to put in a non-Wordpress URL for a post. It’s what I use to share links.
To help cut through that noise, please comment below, what are your favorite plugins and why do you recommend them?
WordPress Move (It requires a bit of configuration, but once you wrap your head around the process, it makes backups, migrations, and host changes convenient.)
Under Construction (A simple option while working on a live development site.)
