Last week, librarians around the world took notice as Edwin Mellen Press sued a librarian and McMaster University for libel, for an opinion the librarian wrote regarding the quality of the press in the context of collection development. You may notice the perception is shared by Google’s search algorithm as well.
If you’re a librarian, or work in higher education and feel strongly about this suit, there’s an online petition for the press to drop the suit.
