The kids woke up in a good mood. Then, disaster struck as breakfast was needed, a potty was needed, and a fort was needed.

I’m trying to wake up earlier and get ready for the day. I’m trying to go to sleep earlier too. Yet, I’m stretched. The coffee doesn’t do its job. I read articles about mindfulness and think, how the f@ck do you find peace to think when you have two little kids, a partner who also works full time, and a hound dog who howls?
I can’t wait for us to move. It’ll be a lot of work, but the thought of living in a house again, with a yard, and a deck, no shared walls with neighbors, and more space, sounds dreamy. Because it’s day 51 now of working remotely and kids being home. My work is staying home at least through May. All schools and daycares are closed through June. And realistically, we may not be back to work in July or August. Or, we may be working in just a few people who need to be at the office.
Medical professionals speak of the pandemic going on for 18-36 months. What will our life look like in September, December, and a year from now?
